When choosing the tree for the Rockefeller Plaza Christmas display, planners didn’t expect to find a tiny stowaway saw-whet owl hidden inside. The little wide-eyed owl was hungry, dehydrated and frightened. Rescued, bundled in a warm orange sweater, and treated at a local bird center, Rocky was nursed back to health and returned to the wild (without her orange sweater, but the sweet image was captured in this original watercolor).
